Issue: May Newsletter
Upcoming Movement Medicine Workshohps

By Hanna
Welcome to this newsletter, with information around the Apprenticeship and the Music Medicine shop and a great article from Kristin. Her sharing -and chats with her and others about blood family, roots and our dance with that- did inspire me to write about my experiences. But the time for it isn't here yet, the words arenít ready to form into a piece of writing. Enjoy reading, and feel free to send experiences or so to share in this space. Here are the upcoming Movement Medicine workshops, one of them about roots and ancestry (wish I could be there):

Upcoming Movement Medicine Workshops:

25–27 May: Dreaming and Creating with Christian de Sousa. Hamburg, Germany.
Through the dance we can reconnect to our dreams and allow it to awaken our creativity. As everything in this creation, we humans are also subject to and blessed by the essential forces of Yin and Yang – in our doing, dreaming, creating and becoming. We will play with and discover the energies of Yin and Yang as the central principles outside and inside ourselves, and in a dance of respect and curiosity, weaving them together into our being, dreaming and creating.

1–3 June: Jaguar in the Body, Butterfly in the Heart with Ya’Acov. Prague, Czech Republic.
With Move! Evening on 1st of June.
Based on Ya’Acov’s recent book and on his own 30-year long initiation into being a shaman, this workshop is an invitation to review your life, to further discover who you are and what is yours to give. You will skilfully be guided to meeting that ‘Jaguar’ inside you that protects fiercely what it loves, and the ‘Butterfly’, that part which is vulnerable, magically beautiful, only coming out when it really is safe to be seen. The workshop will explore the blend of these two parts and challenge our paradigm of separation.

1–3 June: Life Lab with Susannah. Rome, Italy.
In this workshop the participants can discover new possibilities of showing up in every day life, and new ways of engaging and relating to body, heart and mind, inviting widened awareness and presence within self. The participants will walk (or dance) away with a wide knowledge of and new skills around embodiment, and a practical tool kit empowering each one to integrate this into every day life, bringing about real and tangible positive shifts in personal and professional life.

8–10 June: Gold of the Soul with David Mooney. Budapest, Hungary.
Seeing your own life energy as the gold of your soul, this workshop offers the space to reclaim more of that energy, to release old and stuck patterns and unhelpful energy that are covering that 'gold' and will leave you with resources to integrate this into your daily life. This workshop includes the powerful and transformative practice of the SEER process for soul retrieval and a dance ceremony for deep healing and spirit connection.

15–17 June: Wild at Heart with Susannah. Peak District, UK.
We all need to regularly nurture our connection with nature and the wild for our over-all well-being, this is as important as water and food. This workshop is an invitation to give space to exactly that – the wild spaces inside and outside of ourselves, letting them weave a dance of wholeness and well-being. We will dance outdoors and indoors and infuse our practice and being with the wisdom and beauty of the Wild, remembering and embodying the interconnectedness of all living things. The dancers will also be guided to create their own ceremonial dance space in the outdoors.

It is a powerful and transformative healing experience in which the interconnectedness of all life, all beings, including all the dancers is felt, expressed and celebrated.

16 July: Move! Evening with David Mooney. Bonn, Germany.

18–22 July: Roots – Dancing with the Ancestors with Christian de Sousa. Kientaler Hof, Switzerland.
In this workshop you can find out more deeply about the medicine of your inheritance, and how to connect with your roots. Through dance and play we find ways to trace that Arch of Time and to embody and understand more of our bloodline and ancestry. In an all-night ceremony we create and find a space to honour all the ones who came before us and nurture the roots grounding our individual Tree of Life.
