Issue: February Newsletter
Resources, within and without AND Upcoming Movement Medicine Workshops

By Hanna
Hello and welcome to the first Movement Medicine Newsletter of this year. Some of the contributions speak of resources in some way or other our forests as resource of life, the resource of oil, the resource of the unbroken, resource of pause and gentleness, the resource of friendship, and of course the resource of movement, dance and expression. And as I am writing from Cape Town, currently in the middle of a big water challenge, I am also naming the resource of water as something exquisitely precious and invaluable.

Of course there are so many more to name and to be grateful for and respectful toward. There are resources found inside that are essential for well-being and survival, and there are resources outside ourselves, vital for our being and living here.

I am finding this fascinating to observe, the dance between the resources I have, nurture and call on inside myself (my practice, my wise elder, self-love, my body's deep wisdom, my soul essence, my divine connection, my courage, my heart’s truth, ...) and the resources that weave into and nurture my being and life from the outside (the elements, food, connections, community, ...). Both, inner and outer, different in their character, their place in our lives, or the timing when we calling on or may need which resources.

In this community we are all aware of the need for conscious engagement with resources and that the opposite brings personal and collective and environmental suffering and imbalance. I would like to believe that if I nurture my inner resources really well and know them to be readily available to me – that this can be the ground from which I know how to consciously and respectfully relate to my outer resources, and that if I am nurtured from within, I will subsequently need much less, if any, commodities or ‘stuff’. Filled out, from within.

If it gets as ‘raw’ as it is in Cape Town now, that it somehow remains uncertain how long there is still water available, the situation is filled with a different notion. It is a very concrete situation, and a wonderful reminder to be extra conscious and grateful of any water used, re-learning how little I do need, and a wonderful lesson in the preciousness of one of the elements, irreplaceable, yet crucially vital.
So all-powerful we humans can think we are, so quickly can we become so vulnerable: No water, no life.

No, the strength of my inner resources cannot replace or manifest a vital resource like water (well, we are doing the rain dances/prayers and water blessings here, so who knows ...). Still I would say that I can be a much more conscious being on earth, in relation with the resources and the cycles of giving and receiving, when I am fully resourced from within. I somehow do feel that there is a connection between how I am aware of and use my inner resources and how I relate to outer resources.

If you feel called to nurture and discover some more of your own resources, here is some inspiration in form of various Movement Medicine workshops for inner nurturing, expansion, growth and joy.
And another impulse for inner resourcing: from today until 13th of March 2018 there is a special on the webinars, with 10 life Movement Medicine webinars available for £25.

Invitation to contribute:
I want to remind the community that this newsletter is open to contributions from you. It is lovely to receive your experiences, your stories, poems, art-images etc. that are linked to your personal journey of movement, dance, awakening and shamanism.
Send them to myself: hannamaria@mailbox.org or to Roland: roland@rwevents.co.uk

May you all be resourced and resourceful.

Hanna
