Valentine's was a weekend of love! We witnessed proposals, Champagne corks popping, red roses blooming and the Pastry Team whipped up dozens of chocolate truffles.

Don't forget our Wedding Open Evening on Thursday 8th March. 5pm - 8pm. No appointment necessary. The Great Hall will be set for a wedding reception and Kate and Abi from our Events Team will be on-hand to discuss your wedding details.

Two internal promotions this month - Jamie Wallace, our Conference and Banqueting Manager, is moving on to further his career in the city centre and Lukasz Szabat, our Private Dining Supervisor, has been promoted to this position. In the Reception and Front Office arena, Omar Aboueldahab is moving back to work in London and has been succeeded by Stephen Suri. We wish Jamie and Omar every success and are delighted with the promotions for both Lukasz and Stephen who have been with the hotel for a number of years.

We're going to be in the national media quite a bit in the next couple of months as we have competiton features coming up in the Times, Daily Telegraph, House Beautiful, National Geographic and Conde Nast Traveller. Lots of opportunity to stay at the hotel and have a mini-break in Newcastle.

We're hosting a group of Dutch Travel Agents who are vising the region this weekend. Luckily Eric Kortenbach our General Manager is Dutch too!!
